Ruckus in Punjab Assembly as Budget session gets underway

Chandigarh, June 14

The Budget session of the Punjab Assembly which began on Wednesday was marred by ruckus.Before the beginning of the session, Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh walked up to the opposition benches to greet the AAP and SAD-BJP MLAs.


SAD MLAs created a ruckus over the name of former Punjab DGP KPS Gill being included in the obituary references. They also walked out of the House, whereas BJP MLAs continued to sit.                       The Bains brothers shouted ‘shame’ when the obituary of Gill was being read out. Congress MLAs countered the ruckus created by the Bains brothers. The Bains brothers also staged a walkout.                         AAP MLA Sukhpal Khaira took on the SAD for having “double standards” on opposing the obituary of Gill.                         The two-minute silence was marred by arguments.
