Rs 70 lakhs of bread company recovered by ACP South

Ludhiana: Ludhiana Police on Monday arrested two persons after Rs 70 lakhs of currency was recovered from the commercial Vehicle owned by a bread company. The vehicle was stopped for checking at sherpur chowk checkpost here.
ACP South Kanwarpreet Chahal said, “It is biggest recovery of cash during election.” Officials claim hawala angle and money was supposed to be used for elections and they are investigating both angles.
Even millerganj police recovered Rs 22 crores from 5 vehicles that was stated be amount belonged by banks and Rs 22 lakhs were of cash was owned by Dada motors. Income tax department officials are investigating the matter.
