PCTE organized a Political Debate For Upcoming Elections 2017

Ludhiana, 31 January, 2017: PCTE Group of Institutes organized a political debate for the upcoming elections 2017 in which students represented and debated on issues of the upcoming elections 2017. The various parties represented were Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal and Indian National Congress.

The student’s representatives were Sumeet Singh and Abhinav from SAD-BJP alliance, Vipul and Simrat Singh from Aam Aadmi Party and Chetan and Matives from Indian National Congress. The SAD representatives talked about the development activity done by the government in the last ten years and promised to continue the same in the future if given the chance.

The representatives from Aam Aadmi Party talked about various like drugs, corruption, violence etc that have increased during the rule of Akali’s and Congress and promise to give a cleaner alternative of governance focusing on law & order high technology and women safety. The student speakers from Congress told about the development done during 2002 – 2007 like BT Cotton and loan wavers. They also criticize Modi Government at Centre for Demonetization and the problems it cost to poor people. The students were very enthusiastic and asked a lot of questions on SYL issue, Drug Abuse and Criminal cases against politicians amongst many others.

Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that the initiative was taken to spread the awareness among the city residents to vote .He further added that this rally would reinforce the sentiment and hopefully the youth this time will speak out their opinion and candidate. He added by saying that voting is the essence of a democracy that doesn’t mean we should stop voting on the contrary we should get out and vote more than ever before.
