PCTE – IHM launched “Green Cuisine” at its 4th International Tourism & Hospitality Conclave

LUDHIANA, 10th March 2017. PCTE Institute of Hotel Management launched “Green Cuisine” at its 4th International Hospitality & Tourism Conclave on “Innovative Trends in Hospitality and Tourism” at its campus. Dishes like Kerela & Broccoli Halwa, Kerela Dum Biryani, Cream Soup of Sarson ka Saag & Makki Croissant, Green peas falafel, Avocado Hummus were cooked and served. This is first time in India that Green Cuisine has been launced. Dr. Marina Ambrosecchio, President, UET – The European University for Tourism – Italy was the Guest of Honor. Representatives from various 5 star hotels from the region were present at the launch – To name a few representative from hotels like Taj hotels, Radisson Blu, Hyatt Regency, Park Plaza along with standalone F&B outlet chains like Pirates of Grill, Indian Summer were present.

Mr. Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE – IHM said that this cuisine has been lauched after 2 years of research by the entire team of Hotel Management department. The idea behind it was to develop a cuisine that is way healthier & beneficial, healthy ingredients like Amla, Brocolli, Kerela, spinach, Green peas have been used to develop this cuisine.

Dr. Marina Ambrosecchio and Mr. Anurag Saini, Training Manager, Taj Hotels were the key note speakers at the Conclave, which opened on an ambitious note, discussing the “Innovative Trends in Hospitality and Tourism”. Dr. Marina Ambrosecchio on the occasion apprised the gathering on upcoming trends in hospitality and tourism sector. She further added that we should focus on niche tourism, the changes are dynamic and we should be prepared for fast emerging new forms of tourism. Mr. Anurag Saini said that that employees are the pillars of any organisation which form strong structure. He further shared about the initiatives taken by Taj Hotels for employee training and retention.

At the conclave Mr. Sahil Kansal from Indian summer was awarded with “Young Innovative Entrepreneur of the year award 2017 and The Chocolate Box, Radisson Blu was conferred with Best food & beverage Outlet award 2017.

Dr. K N S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the team of IHM on successfully organizing the Conclave and launching Green Cuisine. He further added that “It’s great to gather people from Industry with common interests and background, with a purpose of seeking healthy discussions and their valuable inputs on the current status of the Industry.”
