Man found murdered at house, shot in head & chest

Ludhiana, February 9

A man aged around 40 was murdered under mysterious circumstances in the Mehrban area late last night. The police came to know about the incident at 10 am this morning when neighbours informed that Harvinder Singh, alias Bittu, was not responding to their calls. Balkar Singh from the Mehrban police station said they got to know about the incident from the neighbours and rushed to the spot. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased lived alone at Harkishan Vihar in the Meharban area. “Though he got married twice, both his wives separated. He had one child from the first wife and two children from the other. He was shot in the head and chest three times. The murder must have taken place late last night. We are investigating the matter but nothing has come out till now. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Both his wives reached here after the incident came to light,” said Balkar Singh. He said the deceased dealt in cable wires. “We have registered a case and further investigation is on. We are recording statements of neighbours and relatives,” said Balkar.
