A Hands-on-Workshop on ‘Neonatal Echocardiography’ and ‘Point of Care Ultrasound’ was held today in Dumra Auditorium of DMCH. The workshop was conducted by Division of Neonatology and Department of Pediatrics.
Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Professor & Head of Pediatrics) said that this workshop aims at teaching the clinicians mainly the pediatricians and neonatologists to diagnose the problems of new born at bedside using ultrasound machines.
Dr Kamal Arora (DM, Neonatology) said that such type of teaching is very useful in treating critically-ill newborns. If we are able to diagnose the problem in time, the life of baby can be easily saved, said Dr Kamal
Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta along with Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Medical Suptds Dr Sandeep Sharma & Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Assistant Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dr Kavita Saggar (Professor & Head of Radio diagnosis) inaugurated the workshop.
Faculty members including Dr Mohit Sahni from Surat, Dr Pardeep Suryavanshi from Pune, Dr Venkat and Dr Shiv Sajan from PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr Rohit Tandon from Hero DMC Heart Institute and Dr Kamal Arora gave training to the delegates, who had come to attend workshop from various parts of India.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in DMCH is level 3 accredited by National Neonatology Forum,which conducts various fellowship programs for doctors and nurses for the last four years.
