EDUCATION MINISTER TO HONOUR 40 TEACHERS WITH STATE AWARD

CHANDIGARH:

The Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary would honour 40 teachers selected for state awards in a state level function to be organized tomorrow on the eve of Teachers Day. The function would be held at the auditorium of the Punjab School Education Board. The awardee teachers would get a prize money of Rs. 25000, a shawl and a medal. In accordance with the departmental norms, these teachers would also get one year extension in the service.

The minister has also congratulated the 8 teachers selected for national awards apart from those selected for state awards and said that these teachers have brought laurels to the department by the dint of their dedication and hardwork and are a source of inspiration for the other teachers. She further added that the selection of 8 teachers from Punjab for the National Award to be bestowed on them during the observance of National Level Teachers Day celebrations in New Delhi is a source of immense pride for the state. These 8 teachers include Mr. Gurjant Singh, Mr. Lovejeet Singh, Mr. Jaswant Singh and Mr. Manmohan Singh from Primary category and Mr. Gopal Krishan, Mr. Sukhdarshan Singh, Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh and Dr.Paramjit Singh Kalsi from the Secondary category.

Head Masters (2): Brij Pal Thakur and Raj Kumar.

Lecturer (7): Priyanak, Rakesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Jaspal Kaur, Resham Kaur, Harminder Kaur and Sunil Kumar.

Master/Mistress (14): Ravinder Pal Singh, Parminder Kaur, Karamjit Kaur, Parminder Singh, Dr Meenakshi Verma, Kashmir Singh, Rajwant Kaur, Satwinder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Joginder Kaur, Sukhwant Singh, Surinder Kaur, Harsh Jueja and Balwinder Singh.
