Continuing cybersecurity education critical as hackers hone their skills : Avalance Tech

Dive Brief:

  • India’s Leading Cyber security company Avalance Global Solutions recently introduced Avalance Tech, a continuing education program for cyber security professionals.
  • Cyber security is one of the few industries that does not require continued education, CIO Insight reports.
  • Avalance Tech offers Avalance customers, partners and employees continuing education credits at three levels:  administrator, advanced administrator and developer.

    Dive Insight:

The rapid evolution of cybercrime means cybersecurity professionals need to constantly advance their skills, but until now there have been few formal options for doing so.

“While there are many industries that provide, and in fact mandate continuing education–namely the legal and financial sectors–such programs are severely lacking within the cyber-security field,” Manan Shah, Co-Founder & CEO of Avalance Global Solutions, told CIO Insight. “With the rapid evolution of attack tactics, the cyber-security industry must hold itself to a higher standard.”

Last month, an Intel Security and the Center for Strategic and International Studies report revealed that the talent shortage in cyber security is worse than talent deficits in other IT occupations.
