AMRITSAR: To mark the 69th Independence Day of the country, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar today made a unique effort by reminding everyone about the freedom fighters from the land of Amritsar, who laid down their lives and contributed in the independence struggle.

The students prepared a display board highlighting the lives of great men like Sohan Singh Bhakna, Baba Jawala Singh and Baba Gurdit Singh. Everyone in the campus was all set to celebrate this great day. Students and staff of the college also gave their opinion about the concept of independence.

The majority of them wished to seek freedom from corruption, terrorism and female foeticide. A quiz based on Nation and its achievements was also conducted in the department.
