All the government and semi govt. schools to remain close on 3 February

 

-Orders not for the educational institutions conducting exams

 

-Ban on carrying inflammable products and sharp weapons

 

Ludhiana, 31 January (000)- Gazetted holiday has been announced in Ludhiana on February 3 in the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections due to the establishment of polling booths in most of the schools. District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat, under section 144, has ordered that students of all the government and semi-government schools would observe holiday while the officials/employees of the institutions would remain present on their duties in their respective institutions. These orders would not be applicable on those educational institutions, universities, boards, schools and colleges where exams are being conducted. Besides this, under section 144 of criminal act 1973, Sh. Bhagat has put a ban on carrying of all types of fire arms, explosive substances, inflammable products and sharp weapons ( daggers, trishuls etc.) from 1 February to 5 February, 2017 for keeping the peace, law and order in the rural and urban areas of Ludhiana. This order won’t be applicable on army personnels, Para military forces, policemen in uniform, and on those who have been given the permission to keep arms legally or religiously.
