16 Punjab MLAs are facing criminal cases, 95 are crorepatis

Ludhiana, March 15 As many as 16 of the 117 newly elected MLAs in Punjab have criminal cases pending against them, as per data compiled by private outfit Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR). The ADR has done analysis of criminal background, financial, education and other details of MLAs in Punjab based on affidavits filed by candidates.


Other details are as follows: 11 MLAs with serious criminal cases 95 MLAs with assets more than Rs 1 crore 59 MLAs having assets of more than Rs 5 crore 45 MLAs with educational qualification upto Class XII The top three richest MLAs are Rana Gurjit Singh from Congress, Sukhbir Singh Badal from SAD and Sukhpal Singh Khaira from AAP.
